OMV's Fuels & Feedstock business produces and markets fuels as well as feedstock for the chemical industry, operates three refineries in Europe, and holds a 15% stake in a refining joint venture in the UAE. OMV operates around 1,700 filling stations in eight European countries. In the Energy segment, OMV explores and produces oil and gas in the four core regions of Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, North Sea, and Asia-Pacific. Average daily production in 2022 amounted to 392 kboe/d. Its activities also include the Low Carbon Business as well as the entire gas business.

Our business

Your tasks

  • In this challenging position you lead the technical design team and work closely with external engineering partners and licensors to ensure the quality of all documents produced in the course of basic- and detailed engineering.
  • You are accountable for the technical design integrity and engineering-consistency above all disciplines and involved contractors
  • You ensure the correct and timely input of OMV technicians throughout the entire project cycle, from project planning to commissioning.
  • Taking the responsibility that the agreed engineering scope is adhered to and that a management of change process is defined is one of your major tasks.
  • Moreover you support the risk management process, as well as in the preparation of project cost estimates and project schedules.
  • You ensure compliance with the applicable OMV standards and manage the decision on advantageous deviations.
  • Capture lessons-learned gained during project development and execution and derive a continuous advancement for the project and engineering management process.
  • You perform progress and quality checks during basic and detail engineering and provide input for monthly project reports.
  • Ensure integrity of data in the Basic and Detailed Engineering Documentation and compliance with all relevant legislation and drive a proper quality assessment of engineering deliverables from contractors.

Your profile

  • You hold a university degree Master / Diploma in mechanical engineering or equivalent technical or commercial discipline, which can be replaced by relevant industry experience.
  • With a minimum of 12 years relevant working experience in engineering and proven track record of executing technical projects your are already an authority in your field of expertise.
  • You demonstrate a strong understanding of engineering workflows, project scope management, scheduling, emphasizing quality, efficiency, and interrelationships.
  • Building up a strong network within the company enables you find the right people for your project scope.
  • Your peers would describe you with the ability to deliver highly complex, international and cross-business projects and transformations in scope, time, budget and quality.
  • You are fluent English skills, both written and oral, German and Romanian would be beneficiary to facilitate multilingual communication.
